BLACK SOFTSHELL TURTLE
- It is a Freshwater Turtle that is found in India and Bangladesh.
- It is omnivorous, with a diet ranging from aquatic plants to aquatic insects
- The black softshell turtle (Nilssonia nigricans) figures in the
- International Union for Conservation of Nature’s (IUCN) Red List as “extinct in the wild” since 2002.
- Consumption of turtle meat and eggs, silt mining, encroachment of wetlands and change in flooding pattern have had a disastrous impact on the States turtle population.

BORNEAN ORANGUTAN

- Orangutans are highly intelligent, displaying tool use and distinct cultural patterns in the wild. It shares approximately 97% of their DNA with humans.
