CONTEXT:

  • The RBI has constituted a 6-member committeeto review the entire gamut of ATM charges and fees.
  • Chief Executive of Indian Banks’ Association VGKannan will chair the committee.
  • The committee will review existing patterns of costs, charges and interchange fees for ATMtransactions.
  • It is to submit its report within two months from the date of its first meeting.
