RBI employees not government servants

CONTEXT:

  • The Madras High Court observed that the employees of RBI cannot bereferred to as ‘government servants’ while identifying their employmentstatus.
  • The observation came after an RBI employee, E. Manoj Kumar, moved theHigh Court seeking the declaration of his result in the Tamil Nadu PublicService Commission (TNPSC).
